7th September 2026 CONTROL Resonant Posters Appear in Portland Featuring FBC Citizen Safety Guide QR Code Prompt [Update #3]

If you live in Portland, you may have seen something new on your streets this past week. Two members of the Control subreddit, Individual_Push_ and Front_Refrigerator99, shared photos of some nearby buildings adorned with new posters promoting CONTROL Resonant. Each of the posters featured a QR code and a website link to an FBC Citizen Safety Guide.

Once scanned, the link takes visitors to a 15-page in-game document listing the security measures implemented since The Hiss broke containment. It details how the public can stay safe, the threats to look out for (Mold, Hiss, Resonant Entities, and Patterning), along with key information and reassurance to trust the FBC.

Interestingly, on the third page, the FBC covers "Timeline of Events" either marked for February 9th 2026 (in US date format) or, more likely, September 2nd 2026. (The latter fitting more closely with the placement of "public information posters" listed in the timeline.) In the original adventure, redactions often implied departmental security squabbles. While their presence in this publicly available document is curious, the timeline reveals how quickly the threat expanded. Given the matter of hours the bureau had to react, the FBC had to put out information quickly while maintaining strict security. 

Update 09/09/2026: While the posters in downtown Portland were the first to be noticed, Remedy's Senior Communications Manager, Thomas Puha posted on Twitter, "We have so much stuff happening (glad to see people finding the Control Resonant posters in some major cities in the world!), looking at our calendar we got multiple things to communicate on most days until launch (and after) some big, some small, some fun. Specs etc lots of info and content coming your way."

Update 11/09/2026: A new audio file has been added to the FBC Citizen Safety Guide. In the clip, we hear a female voice riddled with tension say, "No, no. I- I understand the optics, but if we keep downplaying this one, people see... what's actually happening, they're not going to trust us. They're going to- Yes, I'll read the script. Fine. 'The FBC is in control.' Sure. Okay. Bye"

31st August 2026 Details of a Potential CONTROL Resonant ARG Emerges

Is there a CONTROL Resonant ARG? Well, the UKRC seems to think so! 

In December 2018, Remedy kicked off their ARG (alternate reality game) as they paved the way to Control's launch. The four-month campaign was hosted on the official Control Discord server and was centred around three hexagonal symbols. These symbols revealed a secret code, with the mystery culminating in exclusive access to a restricted section of the game's website. The prize for breaking through was an in-game video of Casper Darling and bragging credits (Data Breach) within the world of Control.

Well, those crazy kids might be at it again! 

In a mighty thirty-nine-page (at present time!) document, Zdots and UKRC members have scoured the Control Discord, and found a mysterious poster by the name of Chess Trebles

Their document introduction reads, "On August 27th, A user named @ChessTrebles Joined the Official Remedy Entertainment Discord. They immediately posted a very off introduction & First message within the #Control-Resonant Channel, raising suspicion. Their accounts have all been made at a similar time and similar hour, and all of their social media handles, aside from Discord, feature a keyword within them."

Each social media features a keyword and a mysterious selection of images, kindling speculation. We highly recommend you check out the document and join the UKRC channel to participate in the discussions. The UKRC are masters of nerdiness, and they are being beautifully on brand.

29th August 2026 Photographs from the Gamescom Show Floor & Community Meet-Up

Held at the Level Infinite sector, CONTROL Resonant's Gamescom display was definitely a sight to behold. In addition to a section dedicated to its first publicly playable demo, there was a photo area featuring actors and a life-sized Aberrant. But that's not all! Visitors were greeted by a scene straight out of the game with a New York taxi partially engulfed in mold, and an electric traffic sign warning event goers not to eat it, no matter how tempting and fuzzy it looks.

The reception to the game has been incredibly positive, with Level Infinite showcasing the long queues of eager players. Visitors reported lines of up to six hours for the game.

Plus, there was another event. For lucky fans who were quick to book their tickets, there was also a community meetup at Die Kunstbar on Friday.

For those who were able to attend, we hope you had a fabulous time (and hope you brought a book for the queue). For the rest of us, we were living vicariously through the posts on social media...

29th August 2026 Play CONTROL Resonant at Tokyo Game Show 2026

Mark your calendars! Remedy will be heading to Tokyo Game Show next month. The team will be bringing with them a playable demo of CONTROL Resonant, available to check out at the SEGA booth.

While the game will be launching a week later, the teaser provides gamers with an early hands-on glimpse of the adventure, before the rest of the world. 

The demo can be found at the Sega booth in Hall 4 (04-N01), and will share the space with LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000, Stranger Than Heaven, Persona 4 Revival and Crazy Taxi: World Tour.

For 2026, Tokyo Game Show will be expanding in celebration of its 30th anniversary, with the expo now taking place over five days. The event will be held at the Makuhari Messe between 17th and 21st September. Similar to Gamescom, doors will open to media ("Business Day Pass" owners) on Thursday and Friday, before becoming available for all pass owners over the weekend.
