Alan Wake to be Adapted as a TV Series

We have some special Alan Wake news! Variety had exclusivity over the story for the past hour, but now we are happy to share that Remedy is working with Contradiction Films to bring an Alan Wake television show to fans.

Peter Calloway, known for his work on Legion, has signed on as the show runner and writer, but there will also be some Remedy folks involved in the project including Sam Lake (Creative Director at Remedy) who will serve as the show's Executive Producer.

The companies will begin approaching potential partners with Calloway's full pitch this October.

Since the launch of Alan Wake back in May 2010, Remedy has created number of concepts for a potential sequel, while we don't know the "full pitch" that will be proposed to partners, the article mentions that some of those unseen concepts have been brought into the new series.

Speaking to Variety, Lake comments “definitely what we have mapped out is a longer thing than the first game and a sequel; there is more to it. In many ways, we see the universe as a bigger thing. Alan Wake is a very central character, but we have other characters around him like [friend and agent Barry Wheeler] and his wife Alice and Sheriff Sarah Breaker and other characters there. We feel this is a big universe to develop and explore in many ways.”

At the moment it's unclear if the series will be considered canon, but in any case it does sound pretty exciting! Check out the Variety's full article, HERE for the full interview with Remedy and Contradiction Films.

I really hope that they bring back the actors that played Alan Wake or at least have a build up of his Alan's return with cameos
