Today, we have a midweek bug update! Nvidia has recently published their new GeForce Game Ready Driver 580.88 which fixes a number of reported issues across RTX-supported games, including Control Ultimate Edition.
Back in late June, Remedy announced that they were looking into a stability issue reported by a number of PC owners with the RTX 50 via the Steam Forums. Stuttering would occur once ray-tracing enabled; with the game working at a smooth 120+ FPS and then suddenly stuttering and crashing. Ahead of the summer holidays, the developers followed up with players, stating that a fix was underway.
Following up with Control players this afternoon, the developers shared news of the update and recommended, “a clean driver install and a settings reset.”
Alongside the Control Ultimate Edition, the new patch fixes issues with Marvel's Spider-Man (lower performance), World of Warcraft (artifacts), Cyberpunk 2077 (stuttering when VSYNCH is enabled), ABZU (issues with water), as well as general bugs across a number of systems.
