Today, the third annual community FBC Zine has been published! Curated by Zath (RangerZath) and Wendy (WonderousWendy), the issue is packed with brand-new artwork and writing from over fifty artists in the Remedy community!
The project has been a yearly treat for artists and fans of the Remedy Connected Universe. The latest instalment follows the FBC Zine Vol 1, from 2023; featuring 136 pages and centred around Control's fourth anniversary. The second, The Oceanview Guestbook was released the following year, and expanded not only in size to 163 pages, but to include the Alan Wake universe.
The newly-launch 278-page FBC Zine Volume 3 is set in the RCU, open to artists or fan fiction authors specifically. While you won't find any analysis or work about the game, you might hear about the world through the characters or original content based on the worlds of the FBC and Bright Falls.
For their latest issue, the team went even bigger with over 250 pages and a theme tied to the games' connecting genre, horror. Writing in their introduction, Zath and Wendy state that “Unlike other genres, horror is nuanced and highly subjective. What may be terrifying to one person may be a fun adrenaline rush to someone else. Horror pushes limits, often tapping into deeply personal and uncomfortable subjects. Fears can be rooted in experience or be completely irrational. A new fear can be unlocked when you least expect it.”
