After its original teaser back in late June, today pre-orders for Poets of the Fall's upcoming vinyl, Revolution Roulette have officially opened!
Released in 2008, Revolution Roulette was the band's third studio album. An early success, it was certified gold just two weeks after being released. Perhaps best known for its singles The Ultimate Fling and Diamond for Tears, the album was a continuing exploration for the band, delving into the rock and grunge genre.
At the moment, details are limited for the vinyl ahead of launch. Similar to the previous presses, we do know that the album will be spread over two LPs, which implies a similar gatefold mechanism as with past releases. At present, the cost stands at €36,32 with international shipping available and a release date set for September 5th 2025.
The vinyl will feature the eleven songs from the original album; Revolution Roulette, The Ultimate Fling, Psychosis, Clevermind, Fragile, Miss Impossible, Passion Colors Everything, Save Me, More, Diamonds For Tears, Where Do We Draw The Line, along with The Ultimate Fling (The Impromptu Alternate Version), an intimate acoustic version which featured in the single release.
Previous Poets of the Fall albums have received the vinyl treatment, either at the title's launch or in retrospect. These include Signs of Life, Carnival of Rust, Jealous Gods, Clearview, Ultraviolet, Alexander Theatre Sessions, Temple of Thought and Ghostlight have all had the vinyl treatment, with the band producing LPs alongside releases from Clearview onwards. With the upcoming release of Revolution Roulette next month, there are now only a couple of albums yet to be released in that format; Twilight Theater, and Alchemy Vol. 1. As Twilight Theater was the first album Remedy fans would have checked out when Alan Wake was released, we're hoping for some good news in the future!
Available alongside as part of a bundle, or available separately, is also the brand new Revolution Roulette t-shirt. The design features two Rs with their back facing each other, and surrounded by a circle with the lyrics “everybody's playing Revolution Roulette” as well as “Poets of the Fall”. As final touches, the boarder has a cog design and the edges of a roulette table. The shirt has been preshrunk and is made of 100% organic cotton weighing 175g/m². It is available from 28,68 € and will launch alongside the vinyl on September 5th.
