Alan Wake's American Nightmare Now On PC

Press Release:

HELSINKI; FINLAND (May 22, 2012)
– Gaming’s best selling writer is taking his newest nightmare to PCs everywhere. Remedy Entertainment Ltd. today announced that Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, the critically acclaimed action-packed stan alone spinoff of Alan Wake, is now available for download on Steam and GOG.com for $14.99. To thank gamers for their continued support, fans who own the original Alan Wake will receive 15% off their purchase.

“Our heritage is in developing PC games so naturally we’re thrilled to be bringing the newest Alan Wake story to PC gamers,” says Matias Myllyrinne, CEO at Remedy. “We’ve worked hard to continue to make the experience worthwhile to fans that wait patiently for our PC releases, and we think they’ll agree this is an excellent addition.”

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is a stand alone pulp action adventure that follows Wake to ‘Night Springs’, a twisted, horrifying alternate reality where fiction has become real. Wake must leap into action and pursue his evil doppelganger, Mr. Scratch, across the Arizona mesa towards the town of Night Springs. Scratch, a supernatural serial killer, has his evil plans set on Wake’s wife, Alice. Wake must learn to control reality itself and unravel the secret to Mr. Scratch’s demise while using the power of light to put an end to the darkness.

The PC release of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare has been revamped for the PC with stunning high-resolution graphics, texture resolutions and graphical options, along with enhanced PC features including the all-new Nightmare difficulty mode, customisable controls, stereoscopic 3D and multiscreen. The PC version also includes the “Fight till Dawn” arcade mode that places Wake in the battle of his life. Players are tasked with surviving a full night of brutal onslaughts while racking up their score. With a myriad of new enemies to battle, Wake won’t have any trouble since he’ll have plenty of deadly options within his arsenal: old stalwarts like the flare gun, wild new favorites like the nail gun and old school Remedy favorites like the Uzi. Surviving until dawn is only the beginning as online leader boards pit friends head to head to see who the real champion of light is.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is available now on both Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/202750) and GOG.com (http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/alan_wakes_american_nightmare). New Alan Wake's American Nightmare Concept Artwork Released

In the off chance that you've managed to drag yourself away from Max Payne 3 this weekend, Remedy has recently released a brand new set of concept artwork from Alan Wake's American Nightmare to celebrate the upcoming release of the arcade title on PC!

The pack has two sections; locations and enemies, and it's available to download via Sandbox Strategies. Click Here to go to the company's download link.

There are fourteen location images ranging from the motel, oil derrick, observatory and the projector room.

This is my personal favourite...

There are also ten pieces of enemy concept artwork which includes a creature that didn't make it to the final version of the game...It's quite strange, like a dog spider thing...I recommend you take a look!

You can also view the images via The Sudden Stop's gallery:

About Alan Wake’s American Nightmare:

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is a stand alone spin-off adventure featuring a thrilling pulp action story mode and an all new “Fight till Dawn” arcade mode.  American Nightmare will shine a new light on the world of Wake while appealing to fans and newcomers alike.

The single player campaign comes from the darkest corners of the ‘Night Springs’, a Twilight Zone inspired fiction. When Wake becomes stuck in the alternate shadowed world of Night Springs, he must hunt down his evil double, Mr. Scratch, to find answers. A supernatural serial killer, Scratch is fixated on Wake’s wife, Alice, and even more horribly, Wake’s demise. To survive and thrive in the darkest of nights, Wake must learn to control reality itself and unravel the secrets of Night Springs with a trusty flashlight by his side and whatever weapon he can find.

The brand new “Fight till Dawn” arcade mode places Wake in the battle of his life. Players are tasked with surviving a full night of brutal onslaughts while racking up their score. Thankfully, safe havens and unlockable weapons litter the landscape, allowing for a momentary respite from the darkness. Surviving until dawn is only the beginning though, as online leaderboards pit friends head-to-head to see who the real champion of light is.
