FBC: Firebreak Launch Trailer Shown At PC Gaming Show

Today, Remedy debuted the FBC: Firebreak launch trailer at the PC Gaming Show, a digital Summer event celebrating the exciting adventures heading to the platform over the next few months.

With FBC: Firebreak just over a week away from being released, things are heating up, and the studio is taking advantage of this week's gaming events to help build up pre-launch hype.

For new players, the trailer sets the scene with Hank, the Cave Johnson of the Firebreakers, catching players up to where the FBC is at currently. Narrating the trailer, he reveals “It's been six years now, since we've been locked in with The Hiss. I don't care about your day job. If you can hold a gun and use a tool, Firebreak needs you.” For an impossible place, things are also impossibly stretched at the Oldest House, with random staff fighting the waves with a mismatched collection of tools and gadgets.

Now, while the game centres around the FBC and Hiss, the development team has announced that Control's story continues with its official sequel, Control 2. Instead, FBC: Firebreak provides a snapshot in time of how the bureau has been facing.

While the game is playable just on your own, collaboration is at the heart of the title's design. Hank continues that, “I'll be frank with ya, this ain't an easy shift, but at least you won't be alone. Your fellow firebreakers will have your back. Fightin' together. Fixin' together. Hell, even showering together. If you can stand your ground and stick together, it will be more than enough to survive.”

The ninety-second trailer also teases how corrupted items can cause havoc in the game. Making a re-appearance in the trailer is Red Light (AI49-KE), its document warns that “If an entity approaches the item while its red light is activated, they will be instantaneously relocated a distance of [REDACTED] from the item.” While safely secured in the Panopticon in the previous game, this little gremlin has found its way out in amid the chaos of the Hiss infestation.

FBC: Firebreak will be launching on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X on June 17th 2025! It is also set to launch Day One on the Xbox PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate as well as the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue, available for all Extra and Premium members. There will be two versions available; The Standard Edition ($39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99) and the Deluxe Edition ($49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99).
