Drawing inspiration from Control's Threshold Kids, Remedy have revealed a brand-new six part video series centred around survival in FBC: Firebreak. The first video appropriately titled, Surviving The Workplace, coinciding with the launch of the game, provides an introduction to The Oldest House, and the setup.
Firebreakers who have already jumped into the game, may recognise a certain something about the host. The series stars Jerry Standish, a dedicated FBC Operations bureaucrat freshly created for Remedy's latest adventure, who players will find located behind his desk and on comms. Armed with his cast of puppets, and a reluctant co-worker (Alex) or two (including Dr Bethany Harrington of Parapsychology), Jerry catches players up with what has happened since 2019 and will provide survival tips in future instalments.
In their launch day press release, Remedy talked a little more about what to expect from the in-universe series. "With nothing but what was available in his office Jerry had to be creative to make videos aimed at recruiting new volunteers and extend the chance of survival of new Firebreakers. The first introductory video is available now, and the first Job video will release on June 19, followed by a new episode each week."

Surviving the Workplace | Introduction (FBC: Firebreak) Transcript
Jerry Standish: Hello, fellow Bureau employees. Have you tried leaving the office for a cigarette break recently? Or returning home to the warm embrace of loved ones after a long day's work? If you have, you probably noticed that all the doors to the outside are locked! That's right. We're all trapped inside with our coworkers and have been for about... six years now. Dang it. And it's not just with our coworkers!
It's also with these guys.... The Hiss.
The Hiss: Arrrrgh
Jerry Standish: Yeah. Thanks a lot for instigating a lockdown, the Hiss. Really cool of you. But it's not all bad news. After extensive testing, the FBC has devised an effective method of counteracting this hostile resonance space force from another dimension.
*Sounds of a gun firing light pew, pew, pew noises*
Jerry Standish: Now, I bet you're wondering how you can do a little "counter action" of your own. Well, my friend, that's easy. You're just one elevator ride and seven signatures away from joining Firebreak! The FBC's recently enacted class three initiative far crisis resolution.
The Hiss: Wow.
Jerry Standish: Er... Guys, a little help here.
*Three hand puppets appear and hit The Hiss*
Jerry Standish: No matter your day job at the FBC, you too can volunteer to join the heroic men and women of Firebreak in valiantly protecting ourselves and the Bureau...
*A bright yellow light appears off stage*
Jerry Standish: What's happening? Should I... Yeah. Alex, you can take five. Okay. Oh. Hey. Hey, what's going on?
*Jerry places down the puppets and walks off-screen to a Firebreaker off to the side. Their shadow is cast along the back of the set. *
Firebreaker: Emergency in maintenance. Another crew down.
Jerry Standish: Oh, it's a damned furnace flare again, isn't it?
Firebreaker: What are you going to do?
Jerry Standish: Oh, what am I going to do?What am I going to do? Well, I'll tell you what going to do.
Firebreaker: ...Wait, I thought you were going to tell me what you were going...Okay.
