To celebrate the global release of FBC: Firebreak, Julius Fondem (Community Manager) and Mike Kayatta (Game Director) talk about future plans and current emotions in a new Steam blog post.
As a game designed to be built upon over time, the team views the launch as the official start of the adventure, with five Jobs available at launch and two more coming later this year. While there will optional paid cosmetics, all added playable content will be free, only requiring access to the base game to join the adventure.
In the new post, Mike talks about the weird world of game development, stating that “For years, our small team has been hard at work building a game that we, ourselves, would play with our friends. And what’s come from that effort is something made from passion and grit that we couldn’t be more excited to share with the world. So, today, we are celebrating. But we’re not celebrating because we’re done. We’re celebrating because we’re finally starting.”
The blog post is accompanied by photographs from the team's traditional launch celebrations at the offices. The snippets of dev life features a series of a beautiful themed cakes adorned in a boarder of physalis.
