Remedy Celebrates Alan Wake's 12th Anniversary with Vida Starčević, Sam Lake, Matthew Porretta, & Ilkka Villi

Ahead of Alan Wake's anniversary this Saturday, Remedy has released a new video detailing the next steps for the series with some of the individuals that have helped shaped the writer.

Vida Starčević (Senior Community Manager at Remedy) sat down with Sam Lake (Creative Director at Remedy), Matthew Porretta (voice actor for Alan Wake) and Ilkka Villi (the physical actor for Alan Wake) to talk about the past twelve years, the reveal of the sequel, and what fans can look forward to in the future. A thirty-second teaser can be found on the company's social media channels, but the full interview is available to watch below!

Alan Wake Remastered Coming To Switch. At the start of the interview, Sam and Ilkka announced that Alan Wake Remastered will be coming to Nintendo Switch. The game is set to digitally launch on the platform this autumn, with more details promised closer to the date.

The TV Show. We also heard an update regarding the highly anticipated Alan Wake TV show. In mid-September 2018, Remedy revealed that they were working with Contradiction Films to pitch the series. Things have been fairly quiet since the Variety article, but today, Sam revealed that AMC has bought the rights. The company is best known for TV epics such as Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead, so our writer is in good company.

Alan Wake 2. As for Alan Wake 2 news, while we won't see anything this Summer we did see the first glimpse of some concept artwork. In the video, Sam explained the situation at the studio stating that, “everything with Alan Wake 2 development is going really well. We are deep in production, have a lot of material, and a great deal of the game is playable. But we’ve been talking for the past couple of months and have come to the decision here at Remedy, along with our wonderful publisher Epic Games, that we will not be showing anything big this summer.”

“To create a proper, polished demo or a trailer takes a lot of effort, and it’s several months of work that could take away from development,” he continued. “We feel that we have momentum going, and we want to make sure we are creating the best, and first, survival horror game for Remedy. We don’t want to take the team away from that focus, so we’re going to keep going and making a great game experience, and unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a bit longer for a demo and trailer.”
