Redhill Games To Begin Closed Alpha Sessions For Debut Title, Nine To Five [Sign Up Details Included]

In November 2018, Matias Myllyrinne, former CEO at Remedy, announced the official launch of his brand new studio, Redhill Games. A year later, the team revealed their debut title, Nine to Five, which they describe as "a fresh take on the tactical first-person shooter where smart teamwork triumphs over brute force and reflexes". Since their launch, we've been interested in what the studio had been cooking up, and this week news dropped about a new upcoming event.

Earlier this week, the team announced that they are looking for playtesters, who are interested in the FPS genre, to try out their latest 3v3v3 adventure in a closed alpha beginning on June 4th! The announcement also included the first glimpse of alpha gameplay footage (below).

Interested in learning more? Here's the official synopsis: "Set in a near-future where corporations rule everything and being a mercenary is just another job, each round of Nine to Five pits three teams of three against each other across three intense rounds with changing objectives. Every round influences the next, ratcheting up the tension and forcing players to constantly adapt their strategy to win, all in about 15 minutes per match."

In a new press release, Myllyrinne talked about the approach the studio to turn the genre on its head. "We believe shooters can be smarter — and smarter can be more fun. We want teamwork to triumph over brute force and reflexes, giving players a refined shooting experience with the freedom to customize your game plan as you see fit. You can expect plenty of rough edges and thrilling surprises in the alpha, and we’ll be engaging closely with the community for your feedback on day one.”

By taking part in one of these closed alpha events, you must be over the age of eighteen and also be willing to sign an NDA, which will also prevent the player from sharing footage or screenshots of the game.
