IGN Live returned to our screens over the weekend, with a special thirty-minute feature on day one for CONTROL Resonant. The spotlight was split into two parts: a conversation with Creative Director, Mikael Kasurinen, and a panel discussion with Jacob Freeman (GeForce Evangelist, NVIDIA), Pawel Kozlowski (Senior Engineering Manager, NVIDIA) and Elmeri Raitainen (Art Director, Remedy Entertainment).
To kick off the feature, Mikael Kasurinen sat down with Max Scoville at IGN to talk about the demo being shown in previews. As they discussed Resonant, they spoke about the inspirations behind the project, Zoe De Vera, the formation of The Abberrant, and introducing new players to the series. Alongside an interview, Mikael showcased gameplay footage from The Sinkhole, a location located near the start of the game.
In the second part of the feature, the topic moved to the technology supporting the game, including the developer's in-house engine, Northlight. Jacob Freeman (GeForce Evangelist, NVIDIA), Pawel Kozlowski (Senior Engineering Manager, NVIDIA) and Elmeri Raitainen (Art Director, Remedy Entertainment) took to the stage in this second part to tackle the technical questions; breaking down the cutting-edge tech, including DLSS 4.5, advanced Path Tracing, and next-generation Ray Reconstruction.
The full livestream spans a hefty seven hours, but you can find the CONTROL Resonant segment at the 2:02:20 mark. The video below should get you into the right place!
