With Xbox Games Showcase, Summer Games Fest, IGN Live, PC Gaming Show, and so much more this week, it's a major time for video games. And with CONTROL Resonant due to arrive later this year, anticipation was high for some FBC schenanigans at some of these events. We didn't have to wait long! Kicking off the festivities was PlayStation's State of Play livestream, which shared not only the story trailer for Remedy's next adventure, but a release date and pre-order bonuses.

Fresh from the State of Play event, the latest trailer explores Dylan's trauma and reservations about helping the FBC. With years spent in lockdown and escalating tensions, familiar faces aren't quite as friendly as they once were, and Arish takes a particularly antagonistic stance towards Dylan. Community favourite Emily Pope makes a reappearance in the trailer, a warm voice of reason and clarity against growing panic. There's also Casper Darling who.... maybe that's best left for you to find out below...
The trailer concluded in a series of clips showing off some of the pre-order bundles and bonuses that players can collect. As State of Play is a PlayStation event, naturally, the pre-order bundles were tailored for console owners. We'll be covering all pre-order editions and variantions closer to release date.
As for the time being, we do know that the PlayStation Digital Deluxe Edition of the game has officially been revealed. By purchasing it, players can unlock 48 hours of early access, alongside a digital artbook, soundtrack, extra in-game resources, and the AWE Mission Outfit.
Early access begins September 22nd 2026.
