Lost In Cult's Alan Wake: Design Works Publication Pushed to February 2027

Lost In Cult, the writers and publishers of the upcoming Alan Wake: Design Works, have just revealed that the book will be delayed to February 2027.

Announced in October 2025 as part of Remedy Entertainment's thirtieth anniversary, Alan Wake: Design Works was originally set to launch in the final quarter of this year. This evening, the company sent out an email to everyone who had pre-ordered the book stating, "We only get one opportunity to dig this deep into this beloved series, so it seemed only right to invest the additional time and money to make it as comprehensive as possible. This does mean that shipping will fall outside our original estimated window.

"Pending final licensor approvals and subsequent production scheduling, we anticipate we’ll be able to deliver Alan Wake: Design Works in February 2027. We are incredibly grateful to everyone associated with the project, and we thank you for your patience as we take that extra time to deliver a book befitting this unforgettable development story."

While the news of the delay would disappoint some fans, Lost In Cult took the opportunity to tease more about what the extra months would allow: "In the process of creating the book, we’ve conducted 30 interviews and pored over many hundreds of assets, all in service of producing the definitive story of Remedy Entertainment’s astonishing duology (not forgetting American Nightmare, of course). For both Lost In Cult and author Alex Spencer, this project has been a real labour of love, and expanded well beyond its original scope. The result? Around 90,000 words of interviews, insights and analysis across almost 450 pages – making it comfortably our biggest Design Works book to date."

Concluding the newsletter were comments from Alex Spencer, the book's author, who reflected on the project, "Remedy’s games mean an awful lot to me, as I know they do to the rest of their fans – and a large part of that is the thought and love that has been poured into every last detail. That only became more apparent after the many, many hours I spent talking to the people who worked on them, from developers and artists to musicians and, yes, actors. I thought I knew everything about these games, but these conversations shone light into corners I didn’t even realise were there waiting to be illuminated.

"That creative philosophy of giving your all is one I wanted to honour in the resulting book, an effort that Lost In Cult has been incredibly supportive of. We’ve bumped up the page count to make sure every fascinating story and detail that was shared with me remains intact – and to showcase as much of the incredible art behind these games as possible. I’ve now pored over every last page, as laid out by the book’s brilliant designers, multiple times, and they never cease to amaze me. I want to thank you all for your patience. But I mean, we’re Alan Wake fans, right? We’re used to a little waiting."

Press Release: CONTROL Resonant Surpasses One Million Copies Sold Worldwide

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 15th, 2026

CONTROL Resonant Surpasses One Million Copies Sold Worldwide

Remedy Entertainment’s fastest-selling game reaches the milestone following a strong launch

(Espoo, Finland – October 15, 2026) – CONTROL Resonant has surpassed one million copies sold worldwide, making it the fastest-selling game in Remedy Entertainment’s 31-year history.

CONTROL Resonant launched on September 24, 2026, and marks Remedy’s first self-published release of this scale. The game builds on the world of CONTROL, taking players into a reality-warping Manhattan engulfed by a paranatural crisis. Players take on the role of Dylan Faden, mastering his supernatural abilities and shapeshifting melee weapon, the Aberrant, as he confronts dangerous enemies and searches for his missing sister, Jesse Faden.

“One million copies is a very strong start. CONTROL Resonant is Remedy's first self-published release of this scale, launched into one of the most competitive windows in years alongside the industry's biggest names. The game is unmistakably Remedy, with the bold ideas and distinctive style our players have come to expect from us. A huge thank you goes to our players and to the team, who have made CONTROL Resonant the incredible game that it is,” says Remedy Entertainment CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon.

“We have always believed CONTROL deserved an even bigger audience, and this launch shows what's possible: we see the game connecting with long-time fans while bringing a significant number of new players into the world of CONTROL, which strengthens its long-term potential. With CONTROL and Alan Wake, we now have two established franchises. Our focus is to build on what makes them special, support them, and grow them even further. There is a lot more to come from these worlds,” Gaudechon continues.

CONTROL Resonant is available digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with GeForce NOW support. Physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are also available worldwide. A Mac version via Steam and the App Store is planned for later in 2026.

CONTROL Resonant is developed and published by Remedy Entertainment. Annapurna Pictures co-financed and co-produced the game as part of a strategic partnership with Remedy Entertainment.

CONTROL Resonant Takes Over Tripla Tomorrow Evening

If you can make it to Tripla tomorrow, it promises to be an evening to remember! Remedy is holding a special event on the fourth floor tomorrow to celebrate the release of the physical edition of CONTROL Resonant.

The event will kick off at 6pm EEST with an opportunity to mingle, purchase the physical copy of the game from Elisa, take photographs with the Aberrant prop, and check out the Mold cotton candy stall. You may remember the Alan Wake 2 promotion that they had in Finland? Those crazy fools are back at it again! The first fifty people in line to buy a copy of the game will be given a free CONTROL Resonant-themed bucket.

From 7pm, fans will get the opportunity to meet some of the game's developers as well as lead actor Sean Durrie (who plays Dylan Faden). Make sure to show them some love!

Finally, at 8pm, there will be an autograph session with Vilma Jää, the artist behind the iconic "Manalan Mailla" from the game's soundtrack.

During the event, there will also be an opportunity to buy exclusive Resonant merch! So far, the secret is being kept under wraps as there hasn't been a teaser of them just yet. We know at Gamescom that there was a special T-shirt centred around one of the main story missions. Keep an eye out for those!

NYVGCC Lists CONTROL Resonant Merch Bundle To Raise Money Local Video Game Programmes

To help fund their incredible projects, the New York Video Games Critic Circle have recently listed a number of rare collectables on their Ebay page, including a special set. Hidden among the gems is a CONTROL Resonant-themed bundle, complete with tote bag, t-shirt, FBC mug, and luggage strap.

At the time of writing, there are eighteen bids, with the listing currently set at $81. There's still plenty of time to put in a bid, though, with the listing due to end on Tuesday (midnight BST).

The collection features a number of rare convention-specific merchandise. Included...
  • A black tote bag printed with the CONTROL Resonant logo in bold white ink
  • A luggage strap which shows a repeated pattern of the game and studio logos, and a large, easy-to-use clip. When not in use, you can store the strap in the pouch, which also bears the game's logo.
  • A matt black mug with the FBC logo in stark white
  • A Rare black t-shirt available only at conventions.
The t-shirt is listed as a small and features a stylish red print against a black background. If you've already played the game, you may recognise the art from The Enemy Of My Enemy mission featuring a pensive Arish and the perilously balanced CFD at the top of the Evacuation Site. An early teaser for attendees at Gamescom, the shirt has extra meaning once the game has been completed.

Check out the NYVGCC listing on Ebay, HERE!

The money raised through their Ebay listings helps fund their community-driven programs, including Playing with Purpose, which provides a stepping stone into game development by bringing comprehensive classes and workshops in journalism and game narrative to schools and homeless shelters across New York. Through it, they have helped support fresh talent through semester-long games writing and journalism classes with Bronx and Brooklyn students, resulting in scholarships. Though NYCC has a wider reach in the city, it arranges game development talks in local libraries and mentors older adults with VR to take them on trips they can no longer take.

CONTROL Resonant Receives New 1.4.2 Hotfix
[Resolves The House in Distress & The West Incursion Zone Progression Issues]

Following up on last week's massive 1.5 update for CONTROL Resonant, Remedy has rolled out its second hotfix covering smaller issues from the game.

There were a couple of progression fixes brought in with this patch. Following 1.4, some players reported being unable to find Zoe during The House in Distress mission. Others shared problems leaving the Gap after defeating The West Incursion Zone Resonant. If this sounds familiar, make sure that you've got the latest version downloaded.

The rest of the patch notes cover the game's side missions, with rewards given retroactively if they didn't unlock at the time. Check out the full patch notes for 1.4.2 below....

PlayStation 5: 01.400.200
Xbox Series X|S: 1.4.2.0
PC: 1.4.2

  • Fixed an issue in the The House in Distress quest where Zoe went missing, preventing quest progression

  • Fixed an issue where the player is unable to leave the Gap after exiting to the Main Menu right after defeating the Artist Resonant and not using the Ability selection prompt

  • Fixed an issue where the player is unable to ask Busken (NPC) about Underhill after getting far enough into the quest

  • Fixed an issue with the Notes: Every Dog Has Her Day side quest where completing the quest was not awarding an Artifact as a reward. You shall now be rewarded. Unless the dog ate the reward. We also added a method to retroactively give the reward to players who have completed the quest (as long as they did not enter New Game + yet!)

  • Fixed an issue where the Firebreaker you have to protect decides to do nothing but stand around.

  • Fixed an issue where the Burn status effect deals too much damage to Dylan while using the Wallet Artifact and running out of Power

  • Fixed an issue where during Escort tasks the Rangers didn’t always reset their positions correctly.

  • Fixed subtitle timing and other localization issues across all languages

TVPulse Magazine Talks To CONTROL Resonant's Sean Durrie on Bringing Dylan Faden To Life

Our friend Jennifer Griffin over at TVPulse Magazine recently interviewed Sean Durrie on taking on the hero's mantle in CONTROL Resonant.

Spanning just over seventy minutes, their conversation touches on a range of topics, including an exploration of Dylan's humanity, the process of bringing the character to life through motion capture and voice recordings, as well as his experience working with Remedy. He also delved into the studio's audition process and how different it is from what you might expect.

While it's a very nerdy interview (our favourite kind!), it's also a very relaxed one, which opened the doors to a deeper exploration of the character. Early on, Sean talks about the emotional weight on the protagonist and how cautious he was about conveying it just right. "The totality of Dylan's experience, there were many parts that got me pretty emotional because I definitely... I didn't want to make him a caricature of a person with trauma, and so I wanted to do justice, cos there are people that that's a very real experience for them, and I didn't want to make it false," Sean states. "So, I did a lot of research on how trauma can affect someone on a physical level, as well as a mental level."

Sean Durrie began working with Remedy back in 2013, initially stepping into the role of a prototype version of Jack Joyce for Quantum Break before becoming the fan-favourite character Nick Marsters in the final edition. Even before the establishment of the Remedy Connected Universe, the studio regularly worked with some of its favourite actors, including Matthew Porretta, Ilkka Villi, James McCaffrey, and Fred Berman, just to name a few. While Quantum Break is not officially part of the RCU, it gave the studio the opportunity to bring in some familiar faces, reuniting with both Courtney Hope (Beth Wilder) and Sean Durrie for Control.

Make sure to check out the interview below or on the TVPulse YouTube channel, HERE!

For those wary of spoilers, Jennifer mentions in her article, "Please note, this interview does not contain major plot or character spoilers from Control Resonant, but it does involve a deep discussion on the game, its story, Dylan’s arc, and other details."

The Stupendium Releases New CONTROL Resonant-Inspired Track, The Sky Below

The Stupendium is back with another Remedy-themed music video, this time centred around the twisting world of CONTROL Resonant!

Sponsored by the developer, The Sky Below is their second collaboration, following on from their ambitious Alan Wake 2-inspired music, The Ribbon.

Since the game was released, we've been careful to keep spoilers off this site and our social media channels, particularly since the physical launch has been delayed until later this month. In terms of spoilers, this one isn't too bad, as the video is more to encourage new players to jump into the experience. Out of caution, we watched it after completing the game, and for us, that's the recommended route. There are no real spoilers in the sense of major plot points, so completing the game isn't necessary first, buuuut depending on how cautious you were with spoilers during the marketing build-up, this might be a link you want to revisit afterwards.

In the video's description, Stupendium talked about what the collaboration enabled them to achieve: "I’m very grateful, because their sponsorship meant we could go ALL OUT on this video. We have ALL the toys in this one: Armando our robot arm, a new (second-hand) super slow-mo camera, the smoke machine, the caustic light projector, prismatic lens filters, an air-compressor… and that’s just the gear! Did I mention we booked a rain studio and custom built TWO sets? AND ONE ROTATES? "

"The whole team worked super hard on this one. Every second is packed full of really cool stuff, I think it came out incredibly. I hope you think so too! Maybe take a second to look at all the lovely names in the credits below and appreciate them for their work!" The track features two singers, with Cami-Cat returning to her role as Jesse. He continues, "Special thanks to the wonderful @Cami-Cat for jumping on this track and providing the vocals for Jesse’s character. We had to get her back on this one as she’s been on all of my other Remedy-verse songs! She knocks it out of the park every single time - go give her some love!"

Stream Petri Alanko's Hauntingly Beautiful CONTROL Resonant Soundtrack Now!

Not ready to leave Manhattan just yet? Petri Alanko's hauntingly beautiful soundtrack for CONTROL Resonant is now available to stream!

Published by Milan Records and Sony Music, the thirteen-track collection includes The One I Once Knew, heard in the closing credits and featuring Amelia Jones. If you've played Alan Wake 2, you may recognise her name or voice from previous collaborations with Alanko, including End of an Era for The Lake House expansion. (The piece was originally an early exclusive to NME before the full album was released.)

The album also features Obsessive Compulsive Order, the iconic track which was paired with Resonant's announcement trailer at The Game Awards 2025. Released separately as an early teaser in mid-June, the standalone piece announced Alanko's continuing collaboration with the studio!

Known in the games industry for his gorgeous music, Petri Alanko's relationship with Remedy began with Alan Wake and continued through each of the projects since. While he's been involved with the studio for over the past fifteen years, his collaboration is always a treat to discover, having become a staple of the Remedy Connected Universe. His work with CONTROL Resonant pushes the bar further, with a strong soundtrack featuring an emotional core throughout. His eighteen-minute piece, Sibling Theme (Broken Conduit) - Long Version, is the perfect example of the strength and vulnerability he has imbued in his work.

If you want to learn more about how he brought the soundtrack to life, Alanko has recently spoken to MusicRadar about the creation process.

CONTROL Resonant Receives Two Golden Joystick Award Nominations, Best Supporting Actor with Frankie & Best Visuals

CONTROL Resonant may have only just been released, but it's already attracted critical acclaim, receiving two nominations for Best Visual Design and Best Supporting Performer at this year's Golden Joystick Awards.

Voting is now open to the public until October 23rd. The results will be announced at Golden Joystick Awards in Central London on November 11th, broadcast live on YouTube.

Praised for its sweeping, twisted landscapes and gorgeous visuals, it's perhaps no surprise that CONTROL Resonant has been selected for Best Visual Design. For the selection process, the organisers describe the category as recognition of "technical brilliance and artistic flair. These are the games that push the limits of console or PC hardware, or that create coherent, immersive, worlds that we never want to leave, which burn bright in the memory long after we've finished playing." Resonant is up against Forza Horizon 6, SAROS, Phonopolis, Orbitals, and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.

Another standout for the game was Zoe De Vera, portrayed by the brilliant Frankie Kevich. "Our Best Supporting Performer award recognises the talented actors who delivered emphatic supporting roles in video games over the past 12 months," describe the ceremony organisers. Kevich's portrayal brings the character to life, from her cautious, slightly antagonistic start to her becoming Dylan's closest confidante. Paired with great writing, Kevich's delivery and emotion made Zoe an instant community favourite. For the category, she is up against Troy Baker (Nathaniel Essex, Marvel's Wolverine), Vic Michaelis (Runa Blask, Star Wars Zero Company), Lennie James (John Greenway), Terry O'Quinn (Richard, Silent Hill Townfall), and Grace Saif (Diana, PRAGMATA).

Remedy Publishes CONTROL Resonant Accolades Trailer

With CONTROL Resonant in players' hands, Remedy has published a new trailer centred on the enthusiastic response and reviews.

The Accolades Trailer combines gameplay footage with player and media feedback, perfect for persuading those extra friends to join in the fight. Looking at the overwhelming reception, it's perhaps no surprise that just over a week after its launch, the title is also up for two Golden Joystick Awards.

A quick warning to parautilitarians still in the early stages of the game! If you haven't completed the "Plan of Attack" quest yet, you may want to come back to this trailer later. While brief, there's a potential spoiler that you might want to avoid.

CONTROL Resonant launched on September 24th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. A physical edition of the game is set to be released on October 15th.

CONTROL Resonant Hotfix 1.4.1 Now Available
[Fixes for The Park Storyline Quest & Dylan's Powers]

Following Remedy's massive 1.4.0 update yesterday for CONTROL Resonant, the team has published a smaller hotfix, resolving some issues that had accidentally snuck in following the roll out.

Two main things were resolved with this latest patch. The first now enables players to complete the main questline at The Park. The second allows players to use Dylan's powers in combination.

Posting the patch notes on their website and Steam page, Remedy writes, "This hotfix addresses two specific issues that yesterday's 1.4.0 Game Update unfortunately broke. There were thousands of changes in 1.4.0 and while we diligently test these updates, some things unfortunately slip. We apologize for any frustration caused."

Official Hotfix 1.4.1 Patch Notes

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to progress The Park Resonant quest because eating the Mold (required quest step) became impossible.
  • Fixed Dash canceling while using Elevate: The issue here was that while fixing a bug related to movement, we inadvertently broke the momentum from dashing carrying over to Surge. We apologize for this and lets... move on.

CONTROL Resonant Update 1.4.0 Now Available
[Introduces New Game ++, New Assist Mode Options, HUD Updates]

Today, Remedy has rolled out a monster of an update for CONTROL Resonant with fixes across the board. There's also some exciting new additional content, specifically the New Game ++, which now allows infinite runs.

Writing in the 1.4.0 patch notes, Remedy looked back on the launch week, stating, "We have been very happy with the game's stability and overall technical performance during the launch window, based on the feedback we've received and the data we are seeing. However, there's always more to improve and fix, especially in a game of this size and ambition. Many things are much easier to see now that so many people are playing."

If you have not finished the game, DO NOT highlight the hidden text. You will get spoiled on some of the big plot points! However, if you're curious to find out what the patch brings, the highlights section is safe.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • New Game ++

  • You can now play an infinite number of runs of CONTROL Resonant in New Game ++

  • Added the Build Power number to the Loadout screen on the bottom left so that players can easily see their Power level instead of having to find it buried in the Stats & Effects menu

  • It's worth saying here that if you are below the enemy level, you are going to have a tougher time with combat, so keep doing side quests, explore twisted Manhattan, and level up!

  • The HUD will have a little notification icon to indicate that you have new things to buy or upgrade in The Gap

  • Added a feature that when you pin materials you need to acquire for upgrades, you can see if these materials are available at the Vendor by looking at the Vendor icon on the Map (instead of having to go to the Vendor to see their wares)

  • Added a separate volume slider for radio dialogue. You can now customize the audio balance between speakers/headphones and the DualSense controller speaker

  • We should also mention that AMD has released new optional drivers that improve performance and fix several game crashes. Please download the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.9.2 Optional Driver directly from the AMD website .

AUDIO

  • Added a separate volume slider for radio dialogue, so players will be able to customize the audio balance between speakers/headphones + DualSense controller speaker

  • Fixed aggressive artifacts and pixelation most visible when using HDR

GAME DESIGN

  • Unknown Zone - Decreased the overall amount of combat by 10%-15%

  • (Some of you on Reddit will be happy about this one) Made the Firebreak employee doing his job in The Park a lot stronger. There wasn’t supposed to be this amount of Mold to to stand in to make the job that difficult for the Firebreaker.
