In a new video message posted on their social media channels, Poets of the Fall (aka Old Gods of Asgard) shared an update on their latest album, as well as recent collaborations, and new items coming to their web store.
New Honey Gee Remix! Last year, Honey Gee collaborated with the band to produce a high-paced techno remix of The Happy Song, which Alan Wake fans may recognise. This year, their work together continues with one of the band's most iconic tracks, Carnival of Rust. Originally teased on her Instagram, the full song is set to be released later this year. (Crossover #1, Crossover #2)
Based in Thailand, Honey Gee's career started back in 2011, performing in the capital's best nightclubs. Her music has led her to tour throughout Asia and Europe, though Germany may contain her most enthusiastic fans, with Spotify listing Hamburg, Berlin, and Munich as the most active cities. A recent list in the Djane Mag, a publication celebrating women in DJ, named her 90th in the world, and she's not slowing down yet.
New Webstore Additions! Available in both black and white, Poets of the Fall have released a new t-shirt design entitled Circus Noir. These t-shirts feature a ticket-design with the words “outrageous” and “contagious” along with a stylised version of the band's logo. The design seems to mix in a number of elements from the band's incredible twenty-two-year history, particularly imagery from the music videos.
The t-shirt costs €28.68, with international delivery available following its release on July 11th. The image is printed on high-quality soft 100% 190 g/m² heavy cotton. It has been pre-shrunk, ensuring minimal changes.
Upcoming Vinyl. Alongside all that, the band has also been working to bring Revolution Roulette to vinyl. Released in 2008, Revolution Roulette was the band's third studio album. It was certified gold just two weeks after being released. Perhaps best known for its singles The Ultimate Fling and Diamond for Tears, the album was a continuing exploration for the band, delving into the rock and grunge genre.
Previous albums have received the vinyl treatment, either at the title's launch or in retrospect. These include Signs of Life, Carnival of Rust, Jealous Gods, Clearview, Ultraviolet, Alexander Theatre Sessions, Temple of Thought (sold out) and Ghostlight have akk had the vinyl treatment, with the band producing LPs alongside releases from Clearview onwards. There are only a couple of albums yet to be released in that format; Revolution Roulette, Twilight Theater, and Alchemy Vol. 1.
New Album. The final bit of news was, of course, about the upcoming album. Progress is still happening behind the scenes, but they did reveal that they hope to have a single out later this year and that they hope to complete the collection "soon".
