Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki 2023 recently wrapped up, but if you couldn't attend in person, their YouTube channel (PocketGamer.biz) is already underway, uploading the panels and talks that took place during the two-day event.
On Tuesday, September 12th, Veli-Pekka Puolakanaho (Head of Corporate Development and IR at Remedy) and Tommi Lappalainen (Senior Sustainability Manager at Rovio) took to the Finest Finland Stage for their twenty-minute fireside chat on Steps Towards Sustainability - Cases Remedy & Rovio. The discussion was moderated by Elina Tyynela (Coordinator at Neogames Finland).
During the fireside chat, both representatives talked about topics prompted by Elina, rather than a straight split in the time allotted. During his sessions, Veli-Pekka, spoke about the three aspects that Remedy has been prioritising when it comes to sustainability; people (including well-being and becoming a better place to work), the gaming audience (creating safe spaces online and taking into account how people play the game), and taking becoming a better member of society (as a business partner, within Finland, and internationally.)
