This week, Geoff Keighley announced the nominations for The Game Awards 2019, which sees Remedy's latest title, Control, up for six different categories, with a further category for best performance for two of the game's actors.

The categories include Game of the Year (alongside Death Stranding, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Resident Evil 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and The Outer Worlds). Best Game Direction (alongside Death Stranding, Resident Evil 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and The Outer Worlds). Best Narrative (alongside A Plague Tale: Innocence, Death Stranding, Disco Elysium, and The Outer Worlds). Best Art Direction (alongside Death Stranding, Gris, Sayonara Wild Hearts, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening). Best Audio Design (alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Death Stranding, Gears 5, Resident Evil 2, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice). Best Action/Adventure Game (alongside Borderlands 3, Death Stranding, Resident Evil 2, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice).

Two actors who appeared in Control are also up for the same award. In the Best Performance category, it's tough competition with both Courtney Hope (who portrays Jesse Faden) and Matthew Porretta (who portrays Dr. Casper Darling). Alongside them are Ashly Burch (The Outer Worlds), Laura Bailey (Gears 5), Mads Mikkelsen (Death Stranding) and Norman Reedus (Death Stranding).

The Game Awards will be held on December 12th at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with the event live-streamed online across a number of channels including Twitch, YouTube and Facebook.
