Suomen Pelimuseo Opens Today!

If you visited this site last month, you may have seen our post talking about a new video game exhibition coming to Tampere. Entry become available for contributors of its online campaign last month, but today sees the event open to the public!

Finland has had a long lasting and vibrant video game industry, with many internationally known franchises being born there. The country is known for Best FiendsAngry Birds, and Clash of Clans, not to mention Max PayneAlan Wake, and Quantum Break, as well as so much more. So it feels natural that a new museum dedicated to the Finnish gaming industry would be of interest! In addition to video games, the exhibition also celebrates gaming as a whole, covering table top and role playing as well.

The museum is based at Museokeskus Vapriikki (in Tampere, Finland) and last month opened its doors early to its 1100 patrons of it's online campaign, who collectively raised €86,000. The museum is a collaboration of the City of Tampere, the Media Museum Rupriikin, Pelikonepeijoonit, and the University of Tampere. For more information, click HERE to check out their campaign website.

There's a few Remedy titles given spotlight inside the exhibition, and are available to play. The event is also the new home for the CFR (Chronon Field Regulator) used in the live action episodes in Quantum Break.
