If you live in Portland, you may have seen something new on your streets this past week. Two members of the Control subreddit, Individual_Push_ and Front_Refrigerator99, shared photos of some nearby buildings adorned with new posters promoting CONTROL Resonant. Each of the posters featured a QR code and a website link to an FBC Citizen Safety Guide.
Once scanned, the link takes visitors to a 15-page in-game document listing the security measures implemented since The Hiss broke containment. It details how the public can stay safe, the threats to look out for (Mold, Hiss, Resonant Entities, and Patterning), along with key information and reassurance to trust the FBC.
Interestingly, on the third page, the FBC covers "Timeline of Events" either marked for February 9th 2026 (in US date format) or, more likely, September 2nd 2026. (The latter fitting more closely with the placement of "public information posters" listed in the timeline.) In the original adventure, redactions often implied departmental security squabbles. While their presence in this publicly available document is curious, the timeline reveals how quickly the threat expanded. Given the matter of hours the bureau had to react, the FBC had to put out information quickly while maintaining strict security.
