13th September 2026 Catch Up On The Story So Far with "Previously on Control"

With the original adventure launching seven years ago and with the release of CONTROL Resonant just days away, Remedy has published a "Previously on Control" video to help catch you up to speed. 

There's still time to jump into the adventure if you want to check it out or replay it ahead of the launch date. And if you've played the original, the experience will offer additional depth and be much richer when you dive into the sequel.

However, like with Alan Wake 2, Remedy has reassured new players that the sequel will work as a standalone title if you haven't visited the FBC before. You can jump in fresh, explore the original in your own time after the sequel, or check out the video below to get brought up to speed on all the FBC schnanigans (and good lordy, there are many).

Also! For those looking for an answer and accidentally stumble across this blog on Google, you do not need to have played FBC: Firebreak to play CONTROL Resonant. We love Firebreak, but that game is centred around the hectic firefight and collaboration with your fellow firebreakers. It connects to the Control world and the FBC, but it's more of a spin-off rather than part of the overall story.
