Control is participating in this year's Twitch Summer Drop Fest, with a Hotline chat badge awarded to viewers who purchase a subscription to any eligible channels streaming the game.
The collaboration with Twitch is, in part, a celebration of the anticipated reprint of Control Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 5. With CONTROL Resonant due to be released this September 24th, there's been a bigger push to make the original adventure more accessible. The news will be particularly welcome to PlayStation owners concerned about Sony's recent announcement that its consoles will become digital-only in the coming years.
The Hotline badge Twitch drop will be available to collect between July 10th and July 17th. (Pssst, if you're looking for a place to subscribe to, Frankie Kevich, who plays CONTROL Resonant's Zoe De Vera, will be jumping into Jesse's adventure on July 14th!)
Update: Following the news, it's been noticed that there is a slight discrepancy between Remedy's social media posts and Twitch's Summer Drop Fest wrap-up. The developer states that two new subscriptions are required to unlock the badge, whereas Twitch says only one is needed. We'll let you know if there's any clarification after the weekend.
