Last Friday, Mikael Kasurinen (Creative Director) took to the stage at Gamescom latam for a special fireside chat for Remedy's upcoming adventure, CONTROL Resonant. But that's not all that happened! With community events spread across the convention days, incredible cosplayers rocking up in RCU outfits, and local game media in attendance, we have a lot to report on for this wrap-up. So, let's start from the top...
For the event, Mikael was joined by Julius Fondem (Community Manager) and Thomas Puha (Communications Director) as they travelled to São Paulo, Brazil. Meanwhile, work continued back at the studio in Espoo, as development entered the final months, with a 2026 launch window scheduled.
Fireside Chat with Mikael Kasurinen
For Remedy, their main event was the fireside chat with Resonant's Creative Director.
Hosted by Ana Xisdê, the conversation spanned 45 minutes, followed by a meet-and-greet, during which posters and pins were given out to attendees.
During the discussion, Mikael talked about the personal side of working on the game, "CONTROL Resonant took all of the things that made me excited and took it to a new level" he excitedly tells the audience. The fireside chat also provided a great opportunity to share insights into how the development of the game took place and what the studio did differently with their latest adventure. Unlike Remedy's previous titles, the Resonant's world was built first, designed to give the players agency in combat and exploration.
It's a great discussion, and if you couldn't be at the show, fortunately, the organisers livestreamed all stage talks on their YouTube channel. Check it out below!
As Mikeal's discussion wrapped up, Remedy showcased the third development diary coinciding with the video going live on YouTube. The latest teaser focuses on how the studio built up a twisted paranatural Manhattan. If you missed it, you can watch the latest episode HERE.
