New CONTROL Resonant Teaser Explores Dylan Faden's Ambitions & Conflicts

CONTROL Resonant is designed as both a direct sequel to Control and as its own standalone title. While we heavily recommend checking out the original 2019 adventure, there will also be players going into the adventure not knowing who Dylan Faden is or the anything but Ordinary mystery behind the siblings.

To refresh your memory or catch you up to date on the character, Remedy has posted a new teaser for CONTROL Resonant centred around the broody (though not without reason) protagonist. While the two-minute video is targeted for new or returning audiences, there's also snippets of new information for those players whose Oldest House feels more like the Oldest Home by this point.

Check out the trailer below, and scroll further down for a full transcript.

Introducing Dylan Faden Video Transcript

Faced with a reality bending cosmic threat, humanity's salvation lies in Dylan Faden, an unlikely hero seeking redemption in CONTROL Resonant.

We last left Dylan in a coma after his sister, Jesse, thwarted his attempt to help the monovalent entity, The Hiss, take over The Federal Bureau of Control. Now, freed from the Hiss' influence, woken from his coma, and with Jesse missing, Dylan steps out into a warped version of Manhattan.

To save humanity and himself, he'll need to find his sister and prevent a paranatural crisis that threatened to tear this world apart.

At the start of CONTROL Resonant, Dylan is still grappling with the tragic events of his childhood, and the emotional scars left by growing up as a captive of the FBC.

Leaving FBC headquarters, The Oldest House, for the first time since he was a child, Dylan will have to come to terms with his own pain, the damage he's caused others, and the choices he'll have to make to save the world. Like his sister, Jesse, Dylan is a powerful parautilitarian, the FBC's term for people with otherworldly abilities, who can wield Objects of Power, mysterious items of parantural properties.

While Jesse's service weapon morphed into various gun types to keep the enemies at a distance, Dylan's Object of Power, The Aberrant, is melee focused, allowing him to close in on his foes and unleash brutal finishes.

It's not just The Aberrant that develops across the game, however, Dylan's volatile powers had already seen him branded a threat to the bureau, and as he explores more of the world outside The Oldest House, he'll both develop new abilities, and hone his existing ones; turning him from paranatural powder keg to focused fearsome combatant.

Whether it will be enough for him to prevent reality from collapsing and discover his own purpose and salvation, you'll have to see for yourself when CONTROL Resonant releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series x and S, and PC via Steam and The Epic Games Store in 2026
