To kickstart the week, Poets of the Fall has announced a brand-new tour for the new year, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their most iconic song and album, Carnival of Rust. The tour is called Echoes of the Carnival, and the first date has already been announced; a show called Carnival by the Sea in their hometown of Helsinki.
You may also know Poets of the Fall by their fictional alter-ego, Old Gods of Asgard, from the Alan Wake and Control series. The group was founded in 2003, debuting with Late Goodbye, as heard in Max Payne 2. Now with over two decades of wonderful music, Carnival of Rust remains a standout in their collection and fan-favourite. It was the album and song that proved that the band had a future and an eager audience, standing on its own. With Carnival of Rust, Poets of the Fall reached high in the domestic charts where it remained for several months, received awards for both the album and single, and grew on their successes. The album reached gold just three weeks, and eventually reached platinum status.
The Echoes of the Carnival anniversary tour will be kicking off next year, with the first date announced and more to come. On September 4th, Poets of the Fall will host their Carnival by the Sea, at the Allas Live in Helsinki. Writing on social media, the band teased, “We invite you to a magical night among friends to revisit the Carnival of Rust memories that shaped us, and we'll add a few surprises… including an unreleased track from the original sessions.”
Tickets for Carnival by the Sea goes live on December 1st at 10:00 EET (8am GMT) via Ticketmaster. Osuuspankki customers are invited to the Allas presale between 28th - 30th November. For more information, check out the venue site at allaslive.fi.
