Back in June, film and television critic Mikhail Skoptsov turned their attention to games for an article exploring what Remedy's fourth mysterious and yet-unannounced title could be.
Teased during their quarterly financial report webcasts, the developers are currently working on four games; FBC: Firebreak, Control 2, the Max Payne 1&2 Remake, and that fourth project. The presence of it in investor presentations has kindled theories across the community, with debates on where it will fit in the Remedy Connected Universe.
Mikhail's theory takes inspiration from the six door symbols, as seen in the Overview Motel in Control. Combined with statements across the studio's previous financial reports spread throughout the past few years, he writes about his theory of one of Alan Wake 2's unanswered mysteries and central characters becoming the premise.
Though we'll leave the explanation to his in-depth work, the writer explores how there's potential for Mr Door to become the subject and how the gameplay might look as the studio delves deeper into who and what the character truly is.
