The Alan Wake community has a large group of extremely talented fan
artists. Over the next two weeks, we will be spotlighting 14 fans who
have created a series of wonderful artwork inspired by Remedy's latest
franchise
Now we have Rodney (aka Thegameworld on deviantArt) with a selection of incredible fan art!
First up we have a piece inspired by the original game. It's quite impressive how he managed to capture the creepiness and isolation that the player feels in the game. I especially love the portrayal of how wild the dark can be as it sneaks into the lighter section of the image; both beautiful and creepy simultaneously. It seems less as an element of the game or a setting and more like a physical, tangible presence.
Another favourite piece by Thegameworld is inspired by the latest instalment, Alan Wake's American Nightmare. Apparently he wasn't too happy with the result, but I think it's incredible! I love the montage of Alice, Zane, Mr Scratch. And I love the lighting too!
Also he created an image for Deviant Art's Tomb Raider competition, and the side of my brain which grew up with Lara Croft kicked in and became a massive fangirl for a few moments. Make sure to check out the drawing because it's INCREDIBLE!
